It's that time of the year where you look back. And to be honest we got quite a bit emotional. Ka-Ching Cartoons has been around for 1 and a half year now, and things seem to go pretty well. To celebrate we have made a new showreel, a 3 minute compilation of all the stuff we have done. Let's hope the new year will keep on being cool!
When we recently followed the masterclass 'from concept to storyboard' we met Robbe Vervaeke. Robbe is a talented animator who likes to animate with oilpaint on glass. His greatest hero is Alexander Petrov, and if there ever existed a poster of Petrov, he would have it in his bedroom! So we gave him this poster of pin up Petrov! Check Robbe's last film at www.erszebet.com
We at Ka-Ching are on a quest of finding the perfect cat to be our mascotte. Turns out cats usually are not so fond of wearing fezzes!?! Who would have thought. This sweet cat is called Jerry. He's Digna's cat. Sadly we have to say Jerry did not make it to the next round... He just doesn't have the X-factor. Do you think your cat has what it takes? Send in your videos! email@example.com
Check it out the latest issue of STASH magazine! It almost looks like we have our own magazine! thats right, we're featured with 'the 3D machine' as the cover project and as closing film on the Stash dvd! so if you would like to see the 3D machine ! order the latest Stash magazine. now with free 3d-glasseshttp://www.stashmedia.tv/
Here's some more artwork from our animated opera: Kakkerlak. An opera about cockroaches, nuclear bombs and clean energy. We feel we are getting closer to the style we are looking for. Also we feel the story is solid so the talented Matthew Curlewis is developing the outline into a full script. Things are going pretty, pretty good.
Wim Tellier, a Belgian artist and photographer started a project called Protect 77. He photographed portaits of 4500 children from all over the world who all painted a dream on a glass plate. Together this instalation covers 4800 m2 of unique art pieces, combined into six big photos. There will be huge expostions and he will start the tour on Antartica. We made a bunch of animated dreams drawn by children for the intro of the gallery of the projects website. It takes a little while to load, but then you'll see fullscreen high quality video! We did this job for our agents at Shop Around. Enjoy!

Hey there! We just finished the leader for the new reality show 'Can't buy me love'. It runs six days a week at 19:30 on RTL5. Design of the characters was done by Jonathan Kuijs, everything else by Ka-Ching. We did this job for Submarine. Copyright Talpa 2008.
Yes! Yes! Yes! More cockroach designs. This time we're exploring designing characters and backgrounds with more straight lines and hard edges (less rounded), to find out what suits better with the opera theme.
Update!!! The Cockroach project has been selected for the Masterclass: from concept to storyboard 2008. This masterclass is organised by the Holland Animation film Festival and is meant to help young animators with their projects and in doing so elevating the quality of animation productions in Holland and Belgium. We'll get intence help form international professionals: · Ruth Lingford (Groot-Brittannië) (Death and the mother, Pleasures of war) · Konstantin Bronzit (Rusland) (Lavatory lovestory, The God) · Piet Kroon (Nederland/Verenigde Staten) (Alladin, The Iron Giant)
Here are some more designs for our short film; an opera about cockroaches. With these designs we are trying to look for a style that fits with opera. We do not want the film to take place on a stage, but we do want that feel. The story is progressing nicely too. We are co-writing with Matthew Curlewis. He's great. We are getting pretty excited about it all.
Woohoo , although we've been working as Ka-ching for longer , last Saturday we could celebrate our first official year as a 'real' company! may many more years of cartoons come! Also our film 'the 3D Machine' plays as a short in front of 'Be Kind Rewind' at Cinerama Rotterdam untill next week!
Yes, once again Annecy was awesome!!! We've met a lot of our old Cartoon Salooner friends. It was great seeing Tomm, Ross, Jordan, Abel, Mike, Patrick, Daan and Caitriona again. The festival itself was okay, not the best films... but what they hey, there was sun, paddle boats, crepes, tartiflets, a bit of sun, Richard Williams, lots a cool people, drinking, kissing, doing business and dancing. Pretty, pretty, pretty cool! There's more photos to come!
