Upon request I made an effort and tried to narrate this video, where we show how the 3d-anaglyph technique we used for our film 'the 3D-Machine' works. Using flash and after effects and photoshop we developed a system that worked real well for our film to make a 2d animation in anaglyph-3D

Ka-Ching Cartoons is an animation studio in the heart of Rotterdam. The studio specializes in short films, commercials and tv shows. Its clients include Terre des hommes, BNN, Efteling and Halfords.

Showreel 2009
It's that time of the year where you look back. And to be honest we got quite a bit emotional. Ka-Ching Cartoons has been around for 1 and a half year now, and things seem to go pretty well. To celebrate we have made a new showreel, a 3 minute compilation of all the stuff we have done. Let's hope the new year will keep on being cool!

Alexander Petrov

When we recently followed the masterclass 'from concept to storyboard' we met Robbe Vervaeke.
Robbe is a talented animator who likes to animate with oilpaint on glass. His greatest hero is Alexander Petrov, and if there ever existed a poster of Petrov, he would have it in his bedroom! So we gave him this poster of pin up Petrov!
Check Robbe's last film at www.erszebet.com

Ka-Ching mascotte
We at Ka-Ching are on a quest of finding the perfect cat to be our mascotte. Turns out cats usually are not so fond of wearing fezzes!?! Who would have thought. This sweet cat is called Jerry. He's Digna's cat. Sadly we have to say Jerry did not make it to the next round... He just doesn't have the X-factor. Do you think your cat has what it takes? Send in your videos! info@ka-chingcartoons.com

Kakkerlak color and style research
Here's some more artwork from our animated opera: Kakkerlak. An opera about cockroaches, nuclear bombs and clean energy. We feel we are getting closer to the style we are looking for. Also we feel the story is solid so the talented Matthew Curlewis is developing the outline into a full script.
Things are going pretty, pretty good.

Protect 77
Wim Tellier, a Belgian artist and photographer started a project called Protect 77.
He photographed portaits of 4500 children from all over the world who all painted a dream on a glass plate. Together this instalation covers 4800 m2 of unique art pieces, combined into six big photos. There will be huge expostions and he will start the tour on Antartica.
We made a bunch of animated dreams drawn by children for the intro of the gallery of the projects website. It takes a little while to load, but then you'll see fullscreen high quality video!
We did this job for our agents at Shop Around.
Enjoy!

Cockroach designs (5)
Yes! Yes! Yes! More cockroach designs.
This time we're exploring designing characters and backgrounds with more straight lines and hard edges (less rounded), to find out what suits better with the opera theme.
Update!!!
The Cockroach project has been selected for the Masterclass: from concept to storyboard 2008. This masterclass is organised by the Holland Animation film Festival and is meant to help young animators with their projects and in doing so elevating the quality of animation productions in Holland and Belgium.
We'll get intence help form international professionals:
· Ruth Lingford (Groot-Brittannië) (Death and the mother, Pleasures of war)
· Konstantin Bronzit (Rusland) (Lavatory lovestory, The God)
· Piet Kroon (Nederland/Verenigde Staten) (Alladin, The Iron Giant)
Gee whiz, we're excited waahoooooo!

Cockroach designs (4)
Here are some more designs for our short film; an opera about cockroaches. With these designs we are trying to look for a style that fits with opera. We do not want the film to take place on a stage, but we do want that feel.
The story is progressing nicely too. We are co-writing with Matthew Curlewis. He's great. We are getting pretty excited about it all.
