Fabrique asked us if we could help them out with this job.
Their client was preparing a pitch for a Dutch bank, and needed some animations.
We had to design the character and animate him, all in 2 days.
the result is pretty nice!

Recently we have made a very nice video for T-mobile and one of their new business-services.
We designed and animated this 4 minute video where they explain that they offer you to have one number connected to multiple phones.

Thursday 31st of march we will be speaking and looking at portfolios at 'Vroaam! 2011'
if you are a young animationfilmmaker, designer or photographer who is just graduated or who isabout to graduate? Then you should come to this creative careerday at Pakhuis de Zwijger in Amsterdam.
Many Proffesionals (yes, we'll be there too!) are there to speak and advise you, there also will be trainings and workshops.
This event is organised by the BNO, the federation of photographers and the PANL
This year they aim at 1000 visitors and the program will be hosted by Maxim Hartman! sounds like a busy day full of fun!

Cockaroacha

Finally after a long time of radio(active) silence, we have been able to work on our film Kakkerlak again, we call it Cockaroacha for now.
Below you can see some new background designs made by the fantastic Jelle Gijsberts and the new characterdesigns that have been turned into full animatable turnaround flashkits by our big-chinned intern Geoffrey Armfield!

BEAMLAB

Tommorow (wednesday October 27th) we will give an short presentation with Q&A at Beamlab in Pakhuis de Zwijger in Amsterdam. The entrance is free and starts at 20:00h ,and there will also be other presentations, like one from our agents at Shop Around . Hope to see you there!

3D-Machine @ KLIK Festival

Haven't seen 'the 3d-Machine'? Want to watch it again? In the highest quality? At one of the best animationfestivals?
For the second time, our 3d animated short 'the 3D-Machine' will be screened at the KLIK! Amsterdam Animation Festival. the festivals theme is 'Science' this year and our film has been added in the 'Mad scientist parade-programme' together with the Powerpuff girls , Dexters lab, the Muppets, my life as a teenage robot & the Animaniacs it looks like a great programme !
the film will be screened in anaglyph 3d, and in the highest digital cinema quality!
see it on thursday 14:15 or on sunday 15:45!

New studio!!!

Last week we moved to our new studio space. And it's great!!! Much bigger and situated right next to Rotterdam Central Station. It took blood, sweat and a lot of paint, but we are very happy with the result. To the right you can see our new intern, Geoffrey Armfield. A talented and enthusiastic animation student from the Willem de Kooning Academy.

Finished & on TV

Hooraah! we Finished all 26 episodes of 'de Grobbebollen maken Lol'
starting from today until the third of september, every monday tuesday thursday and friday at 14:35, they will be broadcasted on Nederland 3 at Zappelin !

we couldn't have made this fantastic show without Mick Harrison an JesterCoyote animation and of course not without the Efteling!
we hope you will have as much fun watching, as we had while making the show!

Last week we flew back from a great trip in Annecy.
Unfortunally our flight got cancelled, and we had to wait 24 hours to get another one.
Luckily for us the Flightcompany arranged a stay for us in the 5-star Crowne Plaza Hotel in Geneva, where we could enjoy lots of luxury, swimming pool, sauna, steamroom, good food etc.
Just like home!

Storyboards are finished!

Phew! Today we finished the last storyboard for 'De Grobbebollen'. (the tv show we direct for de Efteling) It was quite a job; 26 episodes of 2,5 minutes, which more than an hour! It was great to do, and wonderful to see these how these storyboards develop to the finished episodes. Our work is not finished of course. There's three episodes to be animated. And then we are still busy with post production. We expect all episodes to be totally finished by the first week of July.

Grobbebollen show at the Efteling

The Grobbebollen have got their own little show in Hollands main themepark de Efteling.
In one of the towers of their magic castle they will do a show to entertain the visitors of the park.
They will be supported by guys in blue suits who will play and voice these handpuppets of Broer and Geeltje.

Hard Boiled Chicken

In 2006 Erik and I both did two internships, on at the Cartoonsaloon in Ireland and one at Animationworks a small studio in Dordrecht, here in Holland ran by Arjan Wilschut.
We really liked his style and were strongly convinced Arjan worked in some sort of a digital way, because of his strong 'vectorline-ish'-style.
But we were very wrong, this man draws everything by hand on paper, even the double (thick) outlines are drawn by hand!
We learned a lot from Arjan and we got to work a bit on his film 'Hard Boiled Chicken'
recently he started a blog with loads of nice work. Luckily we're still doing some nice work for him every now and then, watch out for his next film 'Farmer Jack'.
Here is the short 'Hard Boiled Chicken' which we got to work on back then, and which also won a whole bunch of festivals.
